The pictures (above) are our friends in full relaxation mode...

The video clips (below) from the Blue Angels show are fun to watch and listen to on the Web -- but watching in person was outrageous! Nothing like smelling the jet fuel, watching the trails of vapor from compressed air being pulvarized as the planes zip by, and the unmistakable accompanying sonic boom -- to attract over a thousand boats and tens of thousands of people to "oww and ahhh"!

Our great friends the Kellys book a catamaran for a Blue Angels show during Fleet Week each year. Marissa and I were thrilled to join them again... Watching a military air show always creates a bit of an intellectual conflict for me, because I'm not a rah-rah military person -- but regardless of your political positions, you can't help but be excited and in awe of the skill and artistry of these pilots when they're roaring overhead.
